Coating
Natsume Optical established a subsidiary specializing in coating, Tac Coat Co., Ltd., on May 1, 1998. Natsume lenses come in a wide variety of shapes including spheres, prisms, balls, rods, cylinders, and cones. Tac conducts the coating operations for these lenses and offers custom coating to meet specific user demand. Lenses that can be coated measure from 1 mm to 200 mm in diameter. Wavelengths range from ultraviolet rays (excimer laser, etc.) to infrared rays (for optical communication), and such coat-resistant items as anti-reflection mirrors with dielectric multi-layers (1-100 layers), all-reflection mirrors, and dichroic mirrors. From a single unite to mass-product volume, Natsume provides top of the line coating services with prompt service.
After installing an ion-assist, low-temperature depositor in December 2000, we can now coat a substrate with its glass parts attached and are capable of producing a cube beam splitter. As the Tac subsidiary is only 200 meters from Natsume's main plant, close communication is constantly maintained between those engaging in processing and cutting, allowing us to carry out coating while the lens is being polished and perform a number of additional detailed operations that other coating companies cannot offer.
